Environment Test

Hello!
Our collaborator Luis from Digital Rebel Studio, has been busy this summer working on environments for Alike. Today we would like to share with you a test Luis made, that the team particularly likes.

The scene is composed in two different layers, but with the same lighting for both. The render time is severely high at the moment, which can make a bit tedious correcting and polishing a scene. The next step its going to be the optimization of the render.

We take this opportunity to share with you a little making of we've put together for you to see. We are delighted to have Luis help us out! He has continued all Maik´s preproduction work. It is not an easy task to translate the carefully studied 2D style into 3D.

¡Hola!
Este verano nuestro colaborador Luis (Digital Rebel Academy), ha estado trabajando en los entornos del corto. La imagen que publicamos hoy es una de las pruebas que más han gustado al equipo.

La escena está trabajada en dos capas, manteniendo la misma iluminación en ambas escenas. El render tarda 1h (aprox.) por frame, lo que hace bastante tedioso comprobar y corregir errores en el momento (el siguiente trabajo será optimizar la escena).
 

Aprovechamos también para dejaros un pequeño making of con algunas de las fases del proceso de trabajo. Estamos encantados de contar con la ayuda de Luis  que, continuando todo el material 3D que había desarrollado Maik en preproducción, tiene la difícil tarea de intentar transmitir en 3D el look que hemos estudiado en 2D.
